We’re looking for a Director, Global Tax to join us in Hammersmith.
The Director, Global Tax will be responsible for advising on relevant tax aspects in relation to groupwide legal structure and business developments concerning international tax. The successful candidate will provide support on an adhoc basis for all global tax functions including compliance, financial reporting, GET and indirect tax.
What will you be doing?
Managing LG top parent consolidated tax position, including the free movement of cash around the group
Supporting/maintaining relationships with tax authorities and being able to manage this relationship in the context of current requirements of transparency and shareholders interest
Managing the optimization of external tax fees
Proactively monitoring both the development of international tax rules & LG aggregated business across the broader footprint. Takes a strategic view and recommendation of necessary changes to the group structure and related documentation
Managing the optimal number of legal entities and the appropriate intercompany funding structures such as intercompany loan and equity investments
Leading execution of related projects
Overseeing the design, implementation and maintenance of tax governance processes & controls and advises on best practices. Tax governance includes Tax Strategy, Tax Policy and Operating Guidelines
Working with relevant departments like accounting, legal, LGFS shared services to ensure accounts, board meetings etc. are prepared and documented in accordance with Tax Strategy, Tax Policy, Operating Guidelines and other effective governance protocols which are part of our Operating Model
Leading relevant training efforts to ensure tax and non-tax stakeholders are properly equipped to understand & have working knowledge of relevant governance documents
AS 109 reporting: Support / sign off on relevant parts of the quarterly global tax provision process
Supporting accounting in assessing tax accounting issues such as contingencies for financial
Leading by example and demonstrating a “Customer” oriented approach
Driving engagement within Group Tax and wider company
We tend to look for people with:
Master or Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting or finance or tax from an accredited college/university (or similar career qualification – such as CIMA, ACA or CTA)
Proven experience in tax within a large group environment or advisory firm
Corporate Tax knowledge within an international context
Capable of generating a high degree of respect and trust, building relationships rapidly
Proven experience of managing an effective, high performing team
Excellent analytical and financial skills
Extensive experience of managing and documenting processes, identifying risks and actioning controls
Strong communication and learships ability, operating with tact and integrity
Demonstrated ability to define and implement comprehensive cross-organizational industry best practice
