Prospero Teaching are looking for a Science Technician to join a large, outstanding secondary school in Bolton to join them on a full time permanent basis from September.

We are ideally looking for someone that is comfortable working with young people and who has a sound knowledge of science. Your duties will include preparation of resources, maintenance, cleaning of equipment and stock management. Previous experience of working in a similar role is required.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

Location – North Manchester

Position – Science Technician

Start date – September 2023

End date – N/A

Contract type – Permanent

Full time, term time + 1 week

Rate of pay – 21,575 to 21,968 per annum – Pro-rata 18,475 to 18,811 per annum

Hours – 8:30 am – 4pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

A Levels or NVQ3 in Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities (LATA) or NVQ3 for Laboratory Technicians in Education or Level 3 Certificate in Laboratory Technical Skills or equivalent.

Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation as it relates to the work of a school.

Knowledge of COSHH and ESCC regulations in relation to the safe handling and storage of chemicals.

The ability to offer professional guidance and assistance to students and teachers on the practical aspects of the curriculum.

The ability to identify work priorities and manage own workload and that of others.

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application

Provide at least two professional child related references
