I am working with a International Real Estate firm that has over 3000 employees globally and 350 of which are based within the UK. They have been in operation for over 20yrs and have gone through a lot of growth in recent years.

The organisation have 3 main offerings:

– Investment Management Platform

– Build to Rent (BTR)

– Block Management/Third Party Management schemes

This role is a finance leadership position, aligned to the Block Management offering. The Head of Block Finance will be responsible for running the wider function and will be expected to deal with policies, procedures, finance change, the implementation of new systems.

There are several sub-teams which report into the Head of Block Finance including:

– Banking team

– Purchase Ledger

– Credit Control Team

– Service Charge Team

There would be scope for the Head of Block Finance to also partner with heads of regions as well as head office to lead finance efforts.

The Ideal candidate for this role will be a senior chartered accountant/finance professional who has strong leadership experience and is capable of successfully running the finance function of this area of the business. Block Management and experience of working within the property industry is a pre-requisite for the role.

Experience in the following would be very useful:

– P&L

– End of month reporting

– Financial forecasting and planning

– Financial performance management Balance sheet reconciliations

– Financial reporting

– Audit

– Financial compliance

– Budgeting

– Some finance transformation experience would be desirable but not essential

This position would be Leeds based and you’d be expected to be in the office 3 days per week.
