Technical Asset Manager Battery Energy Storage, London (with regular travel to UK locations). Salary to 60,000 based on experience and value. They invest and asset manage across the renewable energy sector with a focus on solar energy, battery energy storage, wind, and electric vehicle transportation. This company boasts a portfolio of 7.8 billion assets under management and has offices across the UK to manage, maintain and operate these assets. The role It s a critical operational role that will provide first-hand experience of the rapid and extensive changes occurring in the UK energy market. The role reports to the Senior Technical Asset Manager. Key responsibilities Ensuring ongoing compliance with technical and operational obligations (legal, warranty, business plan, environmental, H&S etc.). Ad-hoc project support & coordination of subcontractors. Responsible for the total portfolio availability. Supervise PAC / IAC & FAC processes for our Storage, Solar and Wind assets Management of onsite operations and maintenance providers, service records, maintenance systems, regulatory aspects (e.g. new services, emissions monitoring), and H&S management. Reporting, analysing and modelling the assets (multiple types and sites such as solar, wind and BESS, but the position is to manage mainly BESS assets). Physical operations and technical support including: Reporting on operations, site despatch, ESS services performance Use of SCADA systems and market information portals. Technical analysis of system performance. Site visits and interactions with Technical Advisers. Work closely with other Asset Managers to ensure optimal performance of all assets. Essential requirements Ideally, 3-5 years of previous experience in the renewable or any other relevant industry with a willingness to be part of a leader BESS organisation with ambitious expansion plans. Engineering or science background would be advantageous but not essential. The ability to handle large volume data and provide in-depth analysis. Ability to demonstrate numerical rigour, which may be demonstrated through a numerical degree or technical, financial or science background. Candidates with an IT/data science may also be considered. Experience in the energy industry (renewable assets, fossil-fuelled assets, or utility environment). Proficient user of general office systems, business information and management systems will be beneficial. Experience with BESS systems is desirable but not essential. Knowledge of Python, MySQL or another programming language would also be advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills as the role intersects with a broad cross-section of the business (e.g. from fund reporting activities to management of site operations/optimisation teams).
