Your new role
The IT Operations Manager has a number of important purposes as part of their role:

• Form part of the IT Leadership Team responsible for the development and delivery of IT services to the firm.
• Primary responsibility for day-to-day IT service delivery.
• Have organisational leadership responsibility for the Service Desk and Infrastructure Teams within the IT function.
• Management of key supplier relationships (eg Managed IT service supplier; Managed Network supplier).
• Primary operational responsibility for cyber-security for the firm.
• Supply resource and support delivery of IT and Business Change projects to the firm.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Cloud technologies (including Microsoft 365/Azure offerings).
• WAN & LAN networking.
• Active Directory & general system administration.
• Network permissions, file and printer sharing.
• Virtualisation technology, (particularly VMWare).
• SAN technologies (particularly Nimble and Dell).
• Anti-virus procedures and software.
• Backup procedures and software, (particularly VEEAM).
• Desktop virtualisation technology, (particularly Citrix).
• Cyber-security (internal, external, knowledge, supply change and training).
