Introduction
The Fire Risk Management Team (FRMT) is responsible for ensuring that the Parliamentary Estate complies with fire safety legislation and is responsible for ensuring its occupants are safe in the event of a fire. This includes involvement in fire safety design and prevention for all premises and occupants.
The Role
The role of the Compliance Officer is to support the Deputy Head of Fire Safety in the execution of Parliamentary Estate fire risk assessments and follow up actions, design, development and management of fire risk management team processes procedures and documentation.
The Compliance Officer will review and manage all fire safety documentation that supports fire risk assessment and building inspection. Conduct critical assessment of policies, plans strategies and reports ensuring they comply with BS9997, British Standards, and Departmental and House procedures. You will also assist with the fire risk assessment and audit of premises including checking maintenance provision and audit of routine inspections carried out by the fire protection team. Lead the development of an in-house Fire Risk Management solution for controlling and disseminating fire safety information and fire risk assessments.
