A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Architect or Architectural Technologist to join a joint venture business working on education and public sector schemes.They have recently secured a retender with the local council which will run for the next 10 years. On top of this your will work with clients in the education sector such as academies in designing and delivering new buildings within their trust.
JCT and/or NEC contract experience is necessary due to the focus of this role.This role would be perfect for an Architect that works in practice and wants a greater work life balance, possibly a pay rise and a comfortable, relaxed environment in wonderful offices.It definitely has a lot going for it.
Salary = £40-50,000 per annum (some negotiation at the top end depending on relevance of experience)Car Allowance = 10% of salary for car allowanceHolidays = 28 days holiday entitlement + bank holidaysOffice based = Stafford – Hybrid working (3 days a week in the office)Hours = 37.5 hours a week
Duties include:• Designing and managing architectural design projects from inception to completion• Assisting other architectural staff as required and assist with co-ordination of the contributions of all members of the Multi-disciplinary Design Teams• Assisting the promotion and development of the highest quality of design and constructional standards of building with particular emphasis on value for money• Contributing to the company overall through personal performance, supervision, proactive leadership where required• Assisting the implementation of the company’s Health & Safety Policy Statements including risk assessment procedures
The ideal candidate:• Enthusiastic 5yrs+ Registered Architect status or Technologist registered as MCIAT, or equivalent educated to degree level• Experience working to JCT or NEC contract frameworks• Will be based a commutable distance to Stafford – Commute from the Birmingham or Manchester area is definitely feasible• Possess a sound grasp of building design and construction and construction cost planning• Awareness of new innovative procurement and construction techniques (especially in connection with Net Zero Carbon initiatives), construction contracts, current legislation, statutory and regulatory requirements relating to property• Experience in a professional private sector (architectural) office or in a local authority• Good communication written and verbal, presentation, organisational skills• Possess a high skill level of AutoCAD and Revit software• Experience in Education design, public buildings, Healthcare and Blue Light sectors ideally
