Quality Assurance / QA who has experience working within a quality function within an FMCG / Food Manufacturing / Factory environment with a good eye for detail, an understanding of fresh produce and excellent communication skills in English is required for a well-established and leading fresh produce company based in Marden, Hereford, Herefordshire.

SALARY: £22,588 – £23,275 per annum

LOCATION: Marden, Hereford, Herefordshire

Due to the rural location of the Farm. You will need to drive or want to live on the farm.

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: working 8 hours daily, between the hours of (agreed in advance on a rota basis). However, flexibility would be required as during peak season, production may not finish until 23:00.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Quality Assurance / QA who has experience working within a quality function within an FMCG / Food Manufacturing / Factory environment with a good eye for detail, an understanding of fresh produce and excellent communication skills in English.

Quality control is essential because fruits are perishable and delicate and can be affected by handling, storage conditions, weather, pests and diseases, internal changes, and genetics.

Fruit in supermarkets today must be high quality to provide nutritional benefits and remain attractive to consumers. Fresh fruits must be shipped quickly and stored correctly to retain their quality. Thus, regular fruit quality testing is necessary at several supply chain stages to ensure that fruits maintain their quality and freshness.

Working as the Quality Assurance / QA your main purpose is to ensure the quality of product allocated for all customers, meet all requirements, and complete all relevant compliance-related tasks.

A vital aspect of the role as a Quality Assurance / QA will be to drive a quality assurance culture that ensures customer specifications and the company’s quality requirements are always met.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Quality Assurance / QA include:

• Stock allocation based on customer approval status and quality

• To guide and support the production team against customer quality standards

• Regular communication with commercial planners regarding stock rotation

• Regularly and effectively communicate with commercial and technical teams

• Regularly communicate with the Packhouse team

• Ensure self-compliance to all Company and Statutory Rules, Policies and Procedures

• Provide cover within other areas of the department as required

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Working in a quality function

• Understanding of fresh produce

• Knowledge of QMS requirements

• Good level of English

• Understanding of FMCG’s

• Worked in factory environment

• Microsoft Office knowledge

DESIRABLE

• Auditing qualification

• Level 2 Food Safety

• Level 2 HACCP
