Higher Level Teaching Associate – Hillingdon – £28,221 to £29,170Salary: UHS SPR 18-20 (inclusive of Outer London Weighting). All members of our school community subscribe and work towards always being: Positive, Respectful, Open Minded, Unique, Determined: Proud to Make Success Happen.THE ROLEThis role is to be part of the team in the school’s Flexible Learning Centre and Academic Support Provision to complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. Duties will include:

• Monitoring the students and assessing, recording and reporting on student achievement, progress and development as agreed with the teacher.
• Liaison with teachers to prepare and delivery learning activities for individuals, groups or short-term for whole classes.
• Responsibility for the management and development of a potential specialist area within the school.
• Helping the Curriculum Leader to ensure smoother cover in the absence of colleagues and supporting cover teachers.

The successful applicant will have a nationally recognised HLTA qualification eg one assessed by the HLTA National Assessment Partnership . They will have the ability to understand and recognise desired outcomes of lesson plans and an understanding of a range of strategies to establish a purposeful learning environment and to promote good behaviour. They will also be able to interest, motivate and advance the learning of students using clearly structured teaching and learning activities. Specialist skills/training in a curriculum or learning area (eg Science, English) would be desirable and successful candidates should have sufficient understanding of a defined specialist area to support students’ learning and an ability to acquire further knowledge to contribute effectively and with confidence to the classes in which they are involved.We would welcome applications from exceptional people who can make an integral contribution to Uxbridge High School.
