Manpower are currently recruiting for one of the largest LPG suppliers in the UK they have over 35 years’ experience providing alternative energy solutions to domestic and commercial customers. The role is for an Electrical, controls & Instrument Technician. Ideally the successful candidate should be located within 30 miles of Knowsley Merseyside, other locations in and around the NW will be considered for the right candidate.
Role:
Installation and service of a variety of systems including safety, security, energy delivery (hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical), communication and process control systems.
Fault rectification duties on measuring and indicating instruments to monitor process control variables associated with PLC’s
Able to read and interpret line drawings, P&ID’s and FDS documents with relative attachments
Monitoring of the operation of PLC’s and associated equipment.
Providing out of hours support to our own infrastructure and External customer base.
The job will require large amounts of working away but very little weekend working.
As a national role, it is expected that nights out will be required as part of the role. It will be expected that there will be an average of 3 nights out per week. Accommodation & meals will be provided for by the company.
Skills and Experience:
Electrical installation work
Physically fit and able to work in demanding environments as part of a team or as an individual.
Hold a full UK drivers licence (No more than 6 points)
Siemens TIA Portal knowledge
SCADA and DCS Knowledge advantageous
Time served EC&I apprentice
Knowledge of process communications including MODBUS, Profi-bus and Profi-net;
Control lifecycle experience
Working experience of instrument calibration, Inspection and Testing of a wide range of instrumentation: Pressure, level, flow, temperature (Analogue & Digital)
Document creation (Functional Design Specification (FDS), User Requirements Specification (URS); and
