A company focused on providing excellent service to customers, giving back to the community and sustainability.They are looking for an Energy Manager to join their busy office located in the City of London.Hybrid working – 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.Package and remuneration:Salary – £39,000 – £45,000 + generous benefits package.Benefits include: Generous company pension (currently 8%) Access to private Health Insurance Sporting and health benefit contribution Life assurance Half day extra holiday on your birthday Access to Employee Assistance Programme Additional benefits and health discounts offered by health insurance provider Enhanced maternity and paternity packageKey responsibilities include:As an Energy Manager, you will be tasked with monitoring, reporting and identifying areas of improvement to better the energy efficiency of a building portfolio.To summarise:Your main objective is to reduce energy and water consumption, energy and water costs and greenhouse emissions while implementing green and new efficient technologies. The role requires liaising and working closely with Sustainability managers along with Construction and Finance departments to reach the businesses sustainability targets 2025 and beyond.A day in the life will look like this Evaluate building energy and water consumption and cost prior to acquisition. Assess building utility consumption and cost data. Suggest and implement measures for reducing utility consumption. Review and negotiate green energy contracts with suppliers. Perform energy and water inspections via the energy inspection application and recommend improvements. Review energy inspections carried out by construction managers and recommend improvements Unite with technology department to implement and develop energy applications Record and corroborate savings from implemented measures. Support construction team in obtaining sustainable building certifications and energy certificates. Work with other departments to help company reach sustainability targets by 2025. Look over each property’s greenhouse emissions and devise a plan to reduce them Prospect renewable and low carbon technologies Explore government green energy grants for energy efficiency improvements Assist with planned maintenance and contracts to improve energy efficiency Help develop companywide efficiency guidelines and standards Track and submit energy focused incentives and rebates Assist with the annual Sustainability and other energy reports. Review and implement the Climate Action Plan Help onboard and train new staff members Support the Finance Sustainability team with waste management and mobilityIdeal skills and attributes: Previous experience in sustainability and energy with a background working in construction on energy projects. Advocate green solutions, sustainability, and smart building services with a genuine interest in making a difference. Knowledge of energy management and renewable energy prior experience working in building services, construction management is highly advantageous. Self-motivated, super organised and able to prioritise your own workload. Creative thinker with good analytical skills Proficient in Microsoft office suite – Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point inclusive.
