We are seeking to appoint an Accreditation Operations Manager to join a friendly, busy and supportive Workforce Education, Training and Standards team at the British Psychological Society.
The team delivers a broad and diverse portfolio of accreditation activity across both undergraduate, postgraduate and commissioned training routes across the UK and internationally.
You will be responsible for managing a team of hard working employees responsible for the operational delivery of our accreditation activity. In a partnership approach you will be responsible for ensuring that the highest standards of service are offered, supporting providers to meet our standards.
This post requires an in depth knowledge and understanding of the UK Education and Training sector, and whilst not essential, knowledge of psychology education and training pathways is advantageous.
Possessing excellent interpersonal skills, confidence, and the ability to communicate effectively to different audiences, the post holder will lead on initiatives to enhance our quality assurance activity across the society. This will include the development of new accreditation standards and the promotion of these.
The post holder will work closely with the Head of Workforce Education, Training and Standards to ensure that robust accreditation standards are applied in line with society principles. These standards will extend across a range of education and training settings and models (apprenticeships, online and distance learning, franchise arrangements, higher and further education etc).
With a strong track record of delivering operational excellence and a strong focus on customer service, the post holder is responsible for planning and managing a large and complex workload across the academic year. They are also responsible for managing and directing the work of a high performing team with a demonstrable recent track record of this being essential for the role.
A background of working with and managing volunteers is required, along with the confidence and ability to work with senior stakeholders across a variety of organisations.
Although it is not expected that the post holder will be involved in undertaking accreditation reviews, due to the diverse nature of the discipline and the breadth of our external engagement, a willingness and ability to travel is essential (including some overnight stays).
Demonstration of impeccable time management and organisation and the ability to keep on top of multiple projects and tasks in an agile and responsive manner is key.
Previous quality assurance experience in Higher Education, with a particular focus on developing programmes to meet professional body requirements is preferred, as you will utilise your experience to advise and guide the society to develop standards and processes which are fair and appropriate.
Quality assurance experience from other sectors will be considered for candidates who can demonstrate they meet the majority of other requirements for the role.
