Background
The Philanthropy and Alumni & Supporter Relations Office supports the University’s Strategic Plan by delivering philanthropic income and other forms of financial and non-financial support from alumni, friends, companies, livery companies, trusts and foundations and other grant making bodies and institutions. We raise money for University-wide and strategically important initiatives that cover student support, world class research and development of the University’s estate by developing and strengthening relationships with strategically important constituents and identifying shared areas of interest to enable a lifelong relationship to develop and flourish. The Office also helps support UK and international student recruitment, Careers opportunities and enhances the Student Experience, all of which support the University’s Mission and Vision.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be integral to the Alumni and Supporter Relations team, jointly leading on all interactions with the University’s alumni through written and electronic media and responsible for multiple social media platforms and web pages. You will be a key contact for University colleagues seeking to engage with alumni, providing guidance on best practice for alumni communications, as well as ensuring that all communications are of high quality and GDPR compliant. You will also provide regular reports on the University’s engagement with its alumni.
Person Specification
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as demonstrable, stakeholder-specific copy writing experience. Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will be proficient in Microsoft Office with experience of managing multiple social media accounts, groups and pages.
You will also have experience of working with databases, of using a constituent mailing system to deliver electronic communications and producing analytical reports. Experience of working with the Raiser’s Edge and NetCommunity systems would be ideal. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who are used to meeting deadlines and prioritising tasks and projects accordingly.

Subject to agreement, relevant Professional Services roles may be undertaken in a hybrid way. This involves a combination of working on campus and at home each week.
