Drax is no ordinary place to work. You’ll be working on site at the power station where you can literally feel the units coming on and off as demand for electricity peaks and troughs. You’ll be working a varied range of projects that all support our business strategy, enabling a zero carbon, lower cost energy future.
As an Application Developer, the projects you work on will make a difference for generations to come. And that opportunity doesn’t come around every day.
You’ll be working in a mixed IT in-house on-site team and with key third-party suppliers. Your role will be focused on design, coding, testing and documenting a wide range of changes both to existing applications and greenfield projects, as well as designing and building of integration components and taking responsibility for all stages of software development projects.
You’ll need experience in .NET, SQL Server and Oracle, along with exposure to UI technologies (REACT preferably) and an understanding of the full development life cycle. You’ll have experience of web services and cloud platforms and be able to work in a wagile manner (that’s our blend of waterfall and agile, we do a little of both).
You’ll be a problem solver with a curious mind. You’ll be collaborative and keen to work with a cohesive team. You’ll be comfortable interrogating and manipulating large amounts of data and you’ll be ready for a new challenge.
