To help grow our business in this area we are looking to hire a subject matter expert with a passion for geoscience in the energy transition, particularly for carbon and hydrogen storage. The required expert would have in-depth practical experience of the subsurface, and be familiar with site selection, modelling and storage development planning for CCS purposes. Demonstratable experience in previous CCS projects is essential, along with a collaborative working approach and willingness to coach and develop others.
The required candidate will be a strong specialist, with an ability to see the bigger picture whilst also understanding the technical detail, and be comfortable working on a wide variety of projects for storage in differing settings. A track record of strong, results oriented delivery including excellent presentation and report writing skills are required for this role. Job tasks
Lead client engagements on storage development studies for carbon and hydrogen storage
Lead execution of projects related to developing storage development plans
Develop strategic content for marketing Halliburton CCS and hydrogen solutions
Develop and train other staff on carbon and hydrogen storage topics
Represent Halliburton on relevant industry committees
Contribute to industry knowledge development through publication of papers and presentations
Key Competencies
Minimum 15 years post graduate experience in either CCS or oil and gas industry.
Proven experience with CCS essential and EOR topics desirable, with knowledge of end-to-end storage development planning process
Data management and analysis skills
Subsurface interpretation for site characterisation, including 3D seismic and petrophysical logs
Integrated 3D dynamic modelling of CO2 and experience of software such as Permedia, Nexus or equivalents
Knowledge of geomechanical issues for storage
Uncertainty assessment and risk register development for containment of CO2
Field or storage development planning experience
Awareness of well planning for CO2 environments
Key behaviours
Strong communication skills including presenting to all levels and report writing
Excellent at collaborating across disciplines and leading large projects
Coaching and leadership skills
