£36.85 per hour, inclusive of pro rata holiday entitlement and preparation time
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Ceramic Tutor to join us and support adult learners on both the ‘City Lit Ceramics’ course, and the ‘City Lit Ceramics Workshop’ starting in September 2023. So, if you are a Ceramics tutor or practitioner with experience of teaching beginners as well as intermediate students then we would like to hear from you!
You’ll be a key contributor to our thriving School of Visual Arts, where you will have the opportunity to work alongside the wider department in delivering high quality Ceramics courses that inspire learners to achieve. Candidates will need to have knowledge of working with a variety of different ceramic processes, and experience of working with a broad range of materials and techniques.

Demonstrable experience of teaching Ceramics including knowledge of throwing, hand building, simple mould making, glazing, surface treatment and firing processes.
A sound knowledge of material properties of different clays and firing temperatures
Excellent communication skills and an ability to adapt approach to engage with a variety of different learners.
A relevant qualification to the subject (desirable although not essential)
Effective time management skills.
