The Newt in Somerset is a country estate with ancient woodland, historic gardens and far-reaching views; a new and unique destination with luxury hotel, spa, restaurants and an abundance of homegrown produce. Visitors can take a tour of the gardens, deer park and cyder press, dine in the Garden Café or browse our farm shops. Attracting some 200,000 visitors per year from all over the world, our vibrant and thriving garden attraction is animated throughout the seasons by special events, workshops and educational programmes.

Our spa

Our Spa is no ordinary Hotel Spa! With guest wellbeing at the fore, it sets its own standards through unparalleled design, carefully selected to celebrate the surroundings. Rich in style with our own Medieval Herb Garden, an extensive array of breath-taking thermal and water facilities including Hammam, Rasul, Halotherapy Room, Picture Window Sauna and Indoor/Outdoor Wild pool with hydrotherapy. The spa has seven treatment rooms, which include spaces for Manicure and Pedicure.

We are developing the spa with a high focus on the healing power of herbs, nature and a holistic approach in our treatments. We want our guests to feel safe and at home when they visit our spa. To build relationships with our guests is therefore of utmost importance and at the chore of our business.

Our spa cleaner

We are looking for a detail-orientated Spa Cleaner, passionate about customer service and high standards and a CV to reflect this. You will be responsible for supporting the Spa team to achieve faultless standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout the spa and ensure that all departmental service standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily cleaning of facilities, including wet areas, thermal suites, treatment rooms, changing facilities
• Organising laundry for all spa areas
• Maintain professional hygiene levels around all areas of the spa, including kitchen and staff room
• Restocking lockers and spa area of towels, robes, slippers
• Assist colleagues & other departments where required

Skills and Experience

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience required
• Personable
• Speaks fluent English
• COSHH (training can be provided)
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Time management
• Self-motivated with initiative and genuine interest in guest satisfaction
• Problem solving skills and innovative thinking
• Teamworking skills and enjoying working in a team environment
• Willingness to learn
