Salary: £33,000 – £61,000 Role clearance type: You must be able to gain and maintain UK Government clearance Location: Cheltenham/ New Malden About Your Opportunity: The Senior Commercial Officer is responsible for the day to day commercial and contracts management activities on specific multi-million pound contracts supporting NGUK’s Defence & National Security customers, as well as supporting the wider Commercial team on other existing contracts and proposals for programmes spanning multiple sectors, including those within Maritime, Aerospace and Cyber. Employee Incentive Programme – exceptional performance is recognised through our annual incentive programme which is awarded to top performers who excel Career Development – opportunity for ongoing professional development and career growth opportunities Your Responsibilities: Commercial point of contact for existing key multi-million pound contracts predominantly supporting NG’s Defence & National Security customers, including influencing key stakeholders on various Commercial topics Understand the impact of changes to existing contractual terms and conditions and lead programme teams in ensuring such change is accounted for in priced proposals Prepare and negotiate on contracts terms, licence terms, scope and pricing, recognising the risk trade-off, working closely with the relevant Programme Manager, Business Development Manager, Finance Team and Supply Chain Lead and working within approvals Engage with and support the legal review of contract terms and conditions Support the wider Commercial team with higher value, complexity and strategically significant proposals and negotiations Your Experience: Relevant degree (such as Law, Business, Economics) or one to three years’ experience of contracts management in a Defence/ business/ IT/ engineering environment Track record of building strong customer relationships Demonstrable experience of proposal work and review on medium to large scale captures Demonstrable success in creating and executing negotiating strategies and supporting business decision making desired Experience of process development Your Future Team: Join a dedicated, supportive, commercial function – responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of Contracts, which range from Submarine systems development to Cyber & Intelligence solutions; Integrate with Delivery teams – to enable the successful execution of programmes of national importance; Build lasting relationships with Customers – promoting collaborative best practice; Be part of a wider Business Management organisation – working closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Trade Compliance and Project Controls to maximise Business performance. “Delivering world-class commercial solutions for our customers in such a dynamic industry is what makes working at NG so special” Lucy Wright, Commercial Lead, NGUK We believe that creating a team that values diversity and fosters inclusion is essential to great performance.
