London Control Centre Operator Salary: £30,000 My client is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join the team as a London Control Centre Operator. As a Control Centre Operator, you will be responsible for providing a single point of contact and incident response service through the 24-hour Service Control Centre. Your primary focus will be to support the London contracts, including the Highways Maintenance Project Framework (HMPF) and Tunnels and Pump Stations (TaPS), in collaboration with TFL (Transport for London). Key Responsibilities: – Utilize Visual Display Units and other IT equipment to efficiently carry out tasks. – Possess a working knowledge of Office 2000 applications, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. – Interpret geographical information using GIS tools. – Communicate effectively through various means, including telephone, radio, and data terminals. – Maintain round-the-clock availability, working on a shift-based rota that includes days and nights. – Handle telephone calls from the police and local authorities regarding incidents on the Network. – Prioritize incoming calls and demands, making sound decisions accordingly. – Monitor the whereabouts of the Incident Support Unit. – Deploy and manage resources at incidents on the Network. – Coordinate with deployed resources to identify and provide necessary additional support. – Maintain contact with the London Traffic Control Centre during incidents. – Collect and record customer Third Party details related to incidents on the Network. – Input incident data into a computer database. – Update and finalize incident logs as necessary. – Populate spreadsheets to support daily reporting requirements. – Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace. – Perform other duties as reasonably required from time to time. – Shift work is a requirement, including solo night shifts. – Shift schedule is 4 days on and 4 days off with 12-hour shifts. Essential: – Excellent written and verbal communication skills. – Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. – Experience working under pressure and multitasking. – Adaptability to changing situations. – Strong time management and prioritization skills. – Proficiency in Microsoft products and excellent computer skills. Desirable: – Previous experience in a control room environment.
