About the Role: We’ve created a cutting-edge cloud-based (AWS) Analytics & Data Science platform to truly unleash the value of our data assets and implemented a new Data Governance squad to drive best practises. Whether it’s working with the business to identify critical data terms, assisting with the creation of metadata models and catalogues, analysing data profiling and proposing data rules, investigating data quality issues or assisting our multiple Data Stewards and Consumers you have the opportunity to work on scheduled and a multitude of exciting new data governance projects. What we’re looking for: Effective team players who are humble, hungry and people smart, who also have a broad range of skills and knowledge so that you can work closely and partner with the business to drive best practises in relation to data governance. You’ll flourish in an agile environment and be familiar with the associated methodologies of this way of working. You’ll need experience in: Participating in the initiation of a data governance practise and partnering with the business to facilitate the best approach to data governance. Be well versed in data profiling using tooling like Informatica IDQ and reviewing the results that will drive conversations around best approach to governing and ensuring adequate data quality is maintained. Experienced both interpreting and creating Data Governance and Quality dashboards within a Data Governance tool. An ability to interpret complex relational and non-relational data schemas, Metadata modelling and use this knowledge to create new Data Domains, Terms and create the required relationships with a Data Governance tool. Who you’ll be working with: You will work as part of a squad dedicated to supporting Data Governance best practises, we work within an agile framework and you will work across multiple squads assisting the delivery of products required by our business partners like Marketing, Pricing and Underwriting, Claims and many more. We appreciate the knowledge and skills that each one of us brings to the business. It’s hard not to be encouraged by the things that make us unique. You will report to a Chapter Lead within Data. What you’ll be doing: Maintaining our Data Catalogue and recording Data Domains, Catalogue Terms, Data Quality Rules, Roles and Responsibilities, linking data terms and create lineage, recording business roles and responsibilities within out Data Governance tooling. Partner with the business to understand and promote the benefits of data governance practises. Prepare Data Governance Materials and present these at Data Quality and Data Governance Working Groups. Ensuring the ethical use of data by complying with core DLG policies, statutory and regulatory framework(s). Analysing data profiling results within our Data Quality tooling and utilising this information to assist conversations with Data Stewards about the changes and potential rules that could be created to maintain the most fit for purpose data we can strive for. Reporting on risks, issues and performance to the relevant data governance members, working groups and forums.
