In the UK, Kooth’s platform and growth is focused on three key areas: supporting children and young people, adults, and a service to support the wellbeing of workforces. We provide all these services in the UK. Our US strategy is solely focused on supporting children and young people, given our world leading expertise in this area. The total addressable market for Kooth represents circa £500 million in the UK. In the US, they estimate the size of the addressable market for Kooth to be above $1 billion. Following a successful IPO Kooth have been listed on the AIM market since September 2020 with a market capitalisation of just under £100m. Kooth, with 500 staff, have an enviable commitment to D&I, with 70% women in management positions. This is an opportunity to join a fast growing organization with genuine social purpose supporting the mental wellbeing of over 15 million people.

Background:

As part of Kooth winning its first US contract with the State of Pennsylvania and more recently adding California coupled with the businesses ongoing growth trajectory, some changes within the London head office team have occurred. As such, Kooth are seeking to identify a Director of Finance to take an oversight and ownership role on the Company’s group financial reporting obligations (to include taxation and transfer pricing), management reporting as well as support with fundraising, M&A and investor activity. The Director of Finance s a direct report to the CFO, and as befits the role, a high-profile member of the finance team in the eyes of the broader organisation.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the group’s financial reporting activities, including delivery of the half-year and full-year consolidated financial statements under IFRS and other standards relevant to a London listed company
• Manage the US finance function, systems and processes
• Adopt a continuous improvement approach to development (and ownership) of Kooth’s monthly management reporting and board packs
• Contribute to the development of pricing models in conjunction with FP&A and the sales teams
• Responsibility and oversight for the continual development of financial processes, systems, reporting, and controls including the core accounting IT systems
• Management of corporation tax, transfer pricing and treasury related matters.
• Play a key role in strategic group projects such as corporate structuring, treasury, fund raising, investment appraisals, finance transformation and any future M&A activity.
• Work alongside the Head of FP&A and support on budgeting and commercial finance activities

Key candidate criteria

• A qualified, graduate, accountant (ACA, CA) with demonstrable post qualification experience (c10 years+) coupled across practice and industry (ideally B2B SAAS or listed business in an affiliated sector) in a senior Finance or Head of Finance capacity.
• Strong experience of group and international (in particular US) reporting
• Strong technical background (listed IFRS reporting) and being the focal point for all technical accounting-based requirements assigned upon a business.
• Good knowledge of corporate tax and transfer pricing.
• Strong management and people skills to lead, mentor, motivate and develop a team.
• Must be comfortable working in an organisation with social purpose
• Able to respond to changing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• Articulate and clear communicator with the ability to partner and influence effectively at the most senior levels within the business
