Divisional Director – ConstructionCentral London & Home CountiesThe CompanyWalter Lilly is a premier provider of construction and state-of-the-art science and higher education facilities, landmark and heritage buildings, luxurious residential homes and maintenance services across London and the Home Counties.Established in 1924, and boasting nearly 100 years of heritage and expertise, we work with the world’s leading architects, designers, and craftsmen, on a project portfolio ranging from the opulence of the finest listed buildings to cutting-edge contemporary structures.Over the years, we’ve cemented ourselves as a key player in the sciences and higher education construction sector, working on incredible new build and refurbishment projects for key pharmaceutical companies and some of the nation’s most prestigious universities.With an exciting strategy for business growth, we are now looking for a Divisional Director to lead our Science & Higher Education division on a permanent, full-time basis.The Benefits– Competitive salary- Yearly discretionary performance bonus- Car allowance plus reasonable travel expenses- 26 days’ annual leave per annum increasing with service plus Bank Holidays- Private medical insurance, personal accident cover- Pension scheme (up to 10% employer contribution)- Reimbursement of fees for one professional body membership- High-quality training to meet development needs and promote continuous personal development (CPD)- Fresh fruit, a monthly team meal, social events, and long service rewards- Cycle to work scheme, electric car leasing scheme- Shopping, health & fitness, and trade discountsThis is an exceptional opportunity for a high-calibre Divisional Director to lead the division and deliver science facilities for pharmaceuticals and higher education institutes across our projects.From state-of-the-art new build science research facilities to the refurbishment of existing spaces within live and occupied environments, you’ll be responsible for an impressive range of exclusive projects and develop a world-class portfolio of work undertaken to the highest possible standards.We are focused on safety and well-being in the workplace, with qualified mental health first aiders as part of our teams as well as providing an employee assistance programme providing round-the-clock support when needed.To complement this, we provide our people with a range of health-focused benefits, fitness discounts, volunteering, and well-being days.The RoleAs a Divisional Director, you will oversee every aspect, from team members to operations within our Science & Higher Education division, reporting directly to the Board of Directors.Ensuring the successful delivery of all construction projects within the division, you will lead business development efforts with new and existing stakeholders and contacts and achieve revenue and profit targets in line with budgets.You will also champion the implementation of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ), ensuring all projects are safely managed and comply with company procedures.Evaluating and reporting on the division’s performance, you will identify areas of improvement and implement corrective measures whilst forecasting the impact of project issues to inform business financials.Additionally, you will:- Evaluate performance and ensure the teams comply with our policies and procedures- Communicate the business strategy- Support the Board with business decisions and planning- Lead and motivate employees as well as recruit and oversee the onboarding process- Ensure all projects are appropriately resourced- Develop engagement plans with new and existing contacts, building relationships- Identify, investigate and address programme concerns as they arise- Support the preconstruction department in any PQQ or pretender requirements- Contribute to the tender process and lead second-stage tendersAbout YouTo be considered as a Divisional Director, you will need:- Experience in a leadership role, delivering science facilities for pharmaceuticals and universities across multiple projects- Experience in delivering High Containment Facilities- Experience with a variety of contract types- Significant experience in the science sector and the specific complexities- The ability to oversee a portfolio of projects from inception to completion- Knowledge of all MS applications and Asta Powerproject- Knowledge of management best practices and strong managerial skills- An understanding of financial reporting and the ability to communicate finances- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills- Appropriate H&S;
