Electrical Project Engineer Design Scotland with Hybrid working
My client is a large public sector organisation who is looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to assist with their projects across Scotland. It is offering a hybrid opportunity so will give you the opportunity to get you out of working in the office 5 days a week! as their facilities are based across Scotland therefore, you can be based anywhere in Scotland. This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineer to be responsible for a variety of interesting assets across Scotland and manage their own portfolio of work remotely with direct support from the Head of Electrical Projects.
Key Responsibilities
• You will report directly into and receive support from the Head of Electrical Projects
• Design reliable cost-effective control systems to meet statutory requirements with good design practice so that technicians and contractors can install equipment successfully.
• Carry out electrical surveys and produce detailed condition reports, detailed designs, and drawings for works to be carried out.
• Prepare tender documents and assess returned tenders in conjunction with Procurement and Project managers.
• Inspect pre-fabrication work to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and suitability for site installation.
• Interrogate monitoring systems to identify faults and defects taking remedial action as necessary to ensure system availability.
• Carry out site supervision/snagging, providing advice and agreeing variations where necessary.
• Prepare regular reports for Project managers, identifying progress and making recommendations to facilitate project delivery.
• Liaise with other disciplines and departments to ensure Electrical Engineering works are consistent with the scope of the project.
• Liaise with external bodies and agencies to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge and awareness of Electrical Engineering legislation, disciplines, technologies etc to enable appropriate advice to be given.

Skills and knowledge
• Minimum HND qualification or equivalent
• Supervisory skills
• IT user – Database systems, Electrical design software, E-Navigation software, CAD experience is essential
