Brighter Futures for Children Full-time, Permanent post About us Brighter Futures for Children is a not-for-profit company, owned by, but independent of, Reading Borough Council. Although we are independent, we are very much part of the Reading Family. We are responsible for the delivery of children s social care, early help & prevention, education services (including SEND). This also includes fostering and adoption, the Youth Offending Service and traded services with schools. Our main aim is to protect and enhance the lives of the children of Reading. We help families find long-term solutions to ensure children lead happy, healthy and successful lives. About the role We are looking for an experienced dynamic Team Manager to manage this service. Working with Schools and other key stakeholders, you will use your subject matter experience of post 16 to develop and embed new and creative employment pathways for some of Reading s most vulnerable young people Role responsibilities Support the Director of Education in developing and implementing our post-16 action plan including leading on key elements of the strategy. Manage the day-to-day operation of the Post 16 Elevate Team and budget Develop, implement and manage innovative and creative new ways of working across Reading with a focus on establishing academic / vocational employment pathways for vulnerable groups (work experience, traineeships, internships, apprenticeships) Manage a range of commissioned services and projects Manage the Post 16 partnership network to embed a greater partnership accountability for participation and engagement Provide high quality management information related to education and youth engagement, achievement, attendance and participation, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, local and national policy, with a specific (but not exclusive) focus on post-16 participation education requirements Manage the process for effective collection, inputting, extrapolation, analysis and reporting of education and youth destination information; to identify young people who aren t participating in education, employment or training (NEET) and those at risk of becoming NEET Engage young people, encouraging and supporting them to take up opportunities for education, employment and training Work with employers to build robust relationships that support expanding provision for education, employment and training Lead on the September Guarantee ensuring that data is robust and that all post-16 year olds have access to appropriate support and information to make effective career choices Lead a possible move to a new premises, managing appointment duty system.
