In this Workshop Technician Leamington Spa, you will join Our Further Education Client .
Key responsibilities
To support training and assessment for learners by performing the following main tasks:
Support skills development within a workshop environment, for example supporting disciplines such as (not all) Manufacture
Mechatronics
Mechanical systems
Materials
Electrical/Electronics
Automotive systems
Fabrication and welding
Workbench skills
Fluid systems
Maintenance of workshop and laboratory equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
? To prepare & set-up physical materials and equipment for workshop or laboratory activities.
? To produce a preventative maintenance schedule and carry out such maintenance on tools and workshop equipment.
? To order equipment and materials in conjunction with the team and maintain stock levels.
? To help maintain the workshop to current Health & Safety standards.
? To assist in developing this area of work.
? Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults for whom you are responsible and whom you come into contact with.
? Help clean and maintain the workshop and training areas and provide safe and clean training facilities for students.
? Be able to work on own initiative to prepare workshop or laboratory activities.
? Have the personality to be approachable by students and become involved with the students in their training and learning environment.
? To attend team meetings.
? Assist the HOD in the administration, control of teaching material, drawings etc. online for the department (with the use of Google drive and Google classroom);
? Assist in the planning, tracking and recording of student progress in terms of portfolio and gateway delivery.
? Assist in maintaining records pertaining to Health and Safety systems.
Skills & experience
Evidence of formal structured training.
Awareness of Health and Safety (H&S) regulations and experience of implementing H&S procedures.
IT literate in the use of Word and spreadsheet applications and cloud computing.
Extensive experience in an worskhop environment.
Experience in using and maintaining a range of appropriate equipment. First aid trained or a willingness to complete a first aid qualification.
