Environment Team Leader Agriculture Regulations
Location: Flexible: You will be contracted to the nearest NRW office to your home, of which you will be required to attend for regular meetings, training and for one-to-one meetings with your manager. These will be planned in advance.
Salary: Grade 7: £41,150 – £46,147 per annum.

Welsh Government have introduced The Water Resources (Control of Agricultural Pollution) (Wales) Regulations to address the significant and ongoing effect of agricultural pollution on the health and quality of our rivers, lakes, and streams.
This role will lead one of two new teams tasked with implementing the new regulations across Wales. The work will include regulation, partnership working and working with others.
The Team Leader must have a technical appreciation of the agricultural sector and a good understanding of the scope of the new Agricuture Regulations. They will play an active role in setting and managing priorities and regulatory responses, working collaborativley with the other agriculture team, colleagues in Regulatory Approaches and policy teams.
You will be expected to develop an extensive network of stakeholders, both internal and external to Natural Resources Wales (NRW), nurturing and supporting partnership working to achieve compliance with regulatory requirements.
You will interact with colleagues from across the organisation, collaborating with others to provide the most efficient delivery and reporting of the regulations. You will undertake high level technical conversations with external stakeholders who are operating at a senior level.
You will lead your team ensuring the delivery of work plans, and will be fully accountable for staff development, performance and well-being, as well as ensuring compliance will all NRW policies and procedures

Qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills required:
1. Experience of line management. (essential)
2. Coaching and mentoring skills. (essential)
3. Experience of community liaison and public engagement activities. (desirable)
4. Strong organisational, time management and interpersonal skills.
5. Good understanding of the local environment and pressures relevant to the team remit.
6. Ability to communicate effectively with regulated business and the public, explaining issues and gaining support by influencing.
7. Extensive knowledge and experience of regulatory and enforcement processes.
8. Hold a current full UK valid licence to drive NRW fleet vehicles. (cars and vans)
