Robert Walters are excited to be representing a hugely successful global PLC who, due to growth, are seeking a high calibre Finance Business Partner to drive continued success in one of their key and most exciting divisions.
The role reports directly to an impressive Head of Finance and will see you building strong working relationships with key stakeholders to maximise profitability. You will business partner with a variety of stakeholders with a view of maximising financial performance, utilising strong MI, systems and analytical skills to guide commercial decision making.
The role: Support the development and delivery of the operations strategy, in line with company vision and mission, values and key policies. Work proactively with key business partners and stakeholders to develop successful partnering relationships, providing forward looking insight and challenge, adding demonstrable value through delivering business insights – acting as a catalyst for the business’ change. Provide strong financial review together with effective support for business development initiatives and supporting business cases. Proactively investigate performance and spend trends to assist in providing “early warnings” to the business and senior management. Assist stakeholders with understanding the financial implications of all business decisions through the production of ad hoc analysis, modelling and ongoing tracking of business performance. Understanding and challenging current business practice, identifying and implementing initiatives to improve process and deliver business growth objectives whilst ensuring strong cost control. Foster effective working relationships and collaborative approach across the Group, including the other airport finance teams and wider development finance team, together with close working relationships with the Operations teams. Support long term investment decisions and business case development, to ensure we maximise revenue / EBITDA and control costs, supported by scenario analysis / impact assessments. Responsible for business planning, quarterly forecasting and performance review processes for operations, ensuring forecasts are meaningful, identifying risk and opportunities around future performance, and looks at ways to mitigate risks and exploit opportunities. Lead the improvement of rolling business planning processes in relation to Employee and Non-Employee Costs across the Operational areas and the wider team. Lead the delivery of business plan outcomes for Operations ensuring successful implementation of business plan that adheres to the Group and Board requirements but also provides the Airport teams with a realistic and attainable target. Review financial performance information and plans – including the annual budget and the division’s monthly management accounts & forecasting, to ensure they are robust and accurately reflect key business issues. Ensure effective contract management and governance is in operation addressing, risk, financial performance and post investment reviews. Ensure good local cost control and cost management behaviour in the business. Promote good financial disciplines, and risk management processes. Ensure full compliance with management and statutory reporting requirements and deadlines, and accounting policies.
The successful individual:
CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified with a minimum of 3 years PQE. Pro-active mindset with a passion for analysis and a strong desire to develop their knowledge across all areas of the business. Proven track record in analytical skills, attention to detail and commercial awareness acumen. Considerable experience in reporting, financial analysis, management accounting and system dashboard skills (Power BI / Tableau). Strong IT system orientation including, Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills and experience of financial modelling. Knowledge of SAP will be beneficial. Ability to perform under pressure and adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirement. Ability to consolidate and present financial information in differing formats and to be able to translate large amounts of data into useful information and actionable conclusions using local business knowledge where appropriate. Demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills and a passion for building successful relationships within the business environment. Knowledge and understanding of management and financial accounting processes and systems.
