Reed Accountancy are currently recruiting for a a dynamic and enthusiastic Finance Manager to join a fast growing and highly acquisitive SME FMCG company, based in Evesham. The role is focused on the efficient day-to-day workings within the transactional team, identifying improvements and managing controls as the business continues to grow.
This Finance Manager role is a newly created position following recent acquisitions of other companies and will report directly to the FC.
Job Specification:As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of 2 including transactional finance (AP/AR) and management of the logistics administrator. You will oversee the financial transactions of the company, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all related financial activities. You will also support the Management Accountant in completing month end accounts, reconciliations, and reports.
This role will be ideal for someone who understands what an effective month end process looks like and who can add control and efficiency into the day-to-day workings of a Finance team.
Responsibilities:
• Manage a team of 2, including transactional finance and stock, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure high levels of productivity and performance• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and compliance• Ensure timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries• Prepare weekly debtor reports, providing insight into risks and opportunities• Contribute to the preparation of month end reporting, supporting with account reconciliations and the analysis of financial performance to senior management• Support cash flow management through supplier payment reports and forecasts by ensuring the AP/AR functions are up-to-date and accurate• Input stock costings onto the accounting software in a timely manner, highlighting any significant variances or additional costs• Ensure compliance and team awareness with all VAT requirements• Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and operational efficiency, including process improvements and then see these through to implementation• Management of all transport and quality claims within Finance, ensuring that claims are followed up and that we are financially reimbursed in a timely manner
Qualifications and Skills:
• Experience within a similar role• Professional accounting qualification, AAT and / or Part Qual ACA, ACCA, CIMA, preferred• Experience of working in a fast-paced finance role, including team and month end process management• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, issues, and opportunities• A team player with a track record of supporting, guiding, and training both financial and non-financial colleagues in required business practices and processes• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software
