Holistic is one of the most well-established homecare companies in the UK. It currently provides thousands of hours’ worth of care on a weekly basis to several local authorities and private clients in London and the South-East. A position for a Senior Accountant/Finance Manager has emerged in the Clapham headquarters of this well-established and expanding domiciliary care agency.Senior Accountant/Finance Manager – Job Description:An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant to join this rapidly expanding group of companies in the homecare sector.Working closely with the Directors and senior client-facing staff, the Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant will act as a trusted business partner to support the group’s commercial operations. You will be responsible for all statutory, accounting and financial reporting within the business and for cashflow management. Your core duties will be wide-ranging, including monthly management accounts, annual statutory accounts, bookkeeping, overseeing payroll (which is administered by our payroll team) and accounts payable/receivable (which will include overseeing our Credit Controller’s activity). You will take ownership of the relationship with the bank and with clients/local authorities to minimise dependence on the factoring facility.You will be responsible for the preparation and tracking of the annual budget and will provide valued input into the appraisal of new business opportunities, existing contracts and costings for tenders. You will review and continuously improve the processes and controls, and supervise the work of the existing Finance staff.This is very much a hands-on role and you will oversee and be partly responsible for the production of accurate and timely invoices by the Finance team.You will deliver greater transparency of accounting, and make recommendations in order to increase efficiency/profitability of services. You will also establish financial KPIs to support the development of strategic plans by determining cost and revenue drivers for the business.You may be AAT-qualified with strong bookkeeping experience, or ACA or ACCA Qualified, or possess a Masters in Finance, with some Post Qualification Experience. You will have excellent Excel skills and a good working knowledge of Outlook and Word. Familiarity with the Sage Accountant and Sage Payroll packages is desirable.At least two years’ experience in a similar role is required – Experience in the homecare sector is preferred, as would familiarity with software packages used in the homecare sector, such as CM2000.
