Due to company restructuring, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Financial Controller/ Head of Finance to join their accounts team for a luxury fashion design brand. Based in the Heart of the city of London, the role is reporting to the COO, leading a team of 3, one finance manager, and two assistant accounts, you will impact decision-making, forecasting, and budgeting at the company level, based on accounting data.
Daily Operations
Proven work experience or similar role in a similar-sized business as an FC or Head of Finance with exposure to e-commerce/retail / SME business.
Solid understanding of financial management and accounting.
In-depth understanding of cash flow management.
Reporting
Responsible for the annual budget, planning, cash flow forecast and monthly operational review reports.
Review and enhance management reports/analysis (e.g., sales analysis, stock analysis and other ad-hoc analysis.)
Monitor cash flow and ensure a timely payment schedule.
Liaise with auditors and other professionals regarding audit and tax and compliance matters.
Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team and participate in the development and implementation of business strategies.
Handle tax compliance matters and other tax issues
Month End Closing
Overseeing the monthly stock schedules and monthly COGS entries for the company.
Review monthly Intercompany reconciliation, and ensure all intercompany transactions have been reviewed and recorded.
Review VAT submission and prepare Dutch VAT submission schedule.
Prepare and review monthly payroll and related transactions in the system.
Review stores & online sales/COGS entries have been properly recorded.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and management accounting for the group and its subsidiaries.
The ideal candidate will have.
Lengthy experience advising at board level
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
Effective leadership qualities.
BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance along with (CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
MSc/MBA or relevant certification (e.g. CFA/CPA) is a plus
Knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems –
Exceptional interpersonal communication and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate and manage staff at all levels
Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and financial reporting software
Strategic thinking, planning and creative problem-solving skills
Sound decision-making skills based on accurate and timely analyses
