Financial Reporting Accountant Oldmeldrum Permanent position Hybrid/flexible working The Company: James Fisher Decommissioning is your trusted global partner and service provider for the decommissioning of offshore assets, specialising in the removal of subsea infrastructure, structure and jacket removal, well severance and subsea well abandonment. We deliver full decommissioning support for offshore projects by combining knowledge, innovation and experience with engineering solutions and equipment provision. The Role: To manage preparation of statutory accounts and audit reporting process across all Companies. Driving continuous finance process improvement & reporting processes to James Fisher Plc. Key Duties & Responsibilities: The key role for the FRA will be to assist the FC/FD in the accurate and timely delivery of all financial reports including: Communicate with relevant internal groups and ensure all audit Prepared by Client requirements (PBC) are met to the agreed timelines. Prepare audit files for all Companies under job responsibility Work with other internal teams in order to ensure successful audit completion including Legal, Tax etc Act as a single point of contact during the statutory audit and address auditor questions during audit. Manage compliance reporting while ensuring timely filing of all statutory accounts for area of responsibility. Prepare analytical reviews for Income Statement and Balance Sheet for all entities under area of responsibility. Participate in feedback loop to other Finance functional teams if consistent issues occur across entities or if significant error transaction is identified. Monitor, assess and interpret technical accounting developments within each jurisdiction and work with technical manager with respect to addressing potential impacts to relevant financials Assist on direct tax compliance to coordinate with tax advisers on timely submission of Corporation Tax computations. Balance sheet substantiation and key controls. Support to Financial Planning & Analysis in financial modelling for the business. Support implementation of new finance system. Support the production of compliant statutory accounts for the group. Keeping up to date with the latest accounting standards. Skills & Qualifications: Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA) with post qualified experience. Good system skills including excel to a high level (pivot tables, vlookups, nested formulas). Technical accounting knowledge (FRS102, IFRS). Support in the set-up of new processes and procedures. Keeping up to date with the latest accounting standards. The Person: You will have excellent written & verbal communication skills with the ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure in order to meet internal and external reporting deadlines and requirements. You will be used to delivering results and have a strong commercial acumen with a commitment to continuous process change / improvement oriented. Objective orientated you will need to be detailed and focused with excellent people management skills. A problem solver who is independent and proactive when required to be so.
