Salary – £65,000 to £78,000 – inclusive of a £6K car allowance

Post successful completion of 6 month probation as part of the board of Directors you will also be enrolled into a 15% per annum of your per annum salary

You will be responsible for assessing the financial performance of the company as well as possible risks and investments. What’s involved?

1. Oversee, review, the accounts for each depot and the business.

2. Oversee and compile the company-wide budgetary planning.

3. Ensure that all of the company’s financial practices are in line in statutory regulations and legislation.

4. Analyse the financial climate and market trends to assist board of directors in creating strategic plans for the future. 5. Drive the financial planning of the company by analysing its performance and risks.

6. Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems.

7. Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel (management accountants, internal auditors etc.) 8. Interpret complex financial information and provide updates and information as needed.

9. Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions.

10. Supervise the finance and other employees in the facilitation of day-to-day operations, including tracking financial data, invoicing, etc.

11. Prepare official reports on a monthly and annual basis.

12. Seek out methods and practices to minimise financial risk.

13. Contract auditing services to ensure financial monitoring is up to date.

14. Create and maintain relationships with service providers and contractors, including banking institutions and accountants.

15. Update and implement financial policies and procedures.

16. Look to take responsibility for the running and execution of payroll.

17. Must be able to drive actions/people to complete tasks.

1. Proven experience as director of finance or similar role

2. In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices

3. Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting

4. Experience of working within an SME environment

5. Experience in Transport/ Freight is advantageous but not essential.

6. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g., SAGE 200)

7. An analytical mind with a strategic ability

8. Excellent organizational and leadership skills

9. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
