Our client are a specialist mechanical and electrical consultancy that provide engineering services design and asset management for the built environment. They are looking to hire an Intermediate/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Glasgow office. They currently have 7 offices throughout the UK and employ around 70 staff. The company operates across the spectrum of engineering and property management, from the pre-purchase or design stage through to maintenance and refurbishment.

They work on projects from small refurbishments through to new build developments of commercial office space, hotels, retail, residential, historic, industrial, educational or healthcare. This organisation are regularly requested to undertake pre-acquisition surveys of plant and services. If there is any need for refurbishment or fit-out they can provide a bespoke design and management service for the works.

Your new role + What you’ll need to succeed
The Glasgow office currently consists of 4 staff members. You will be joining the team as an Intermediate/Senior Mechanical Engineer, taking the office to 5 members overall. You will be responsible for leading and maintaining a range of projects. A regular part of the role is to undertake site surveys and therefore a full UK driving license is required. Surveys can take place across the country and in England on occasion.

Ideally you will have a Honours Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering with at least 2/3 years experience at a similar consultancy or relevant business. Software experience such as Hevacomp and IES is preferred, as long as you have the mechanical understanding and ability to mark up drawings.
