• JOB TITLE: Manager, Nature – Group Environmental Sustainability
• SALARY: £56,421 – £62,690 (Salary may vary on location)
• LOCATION(S): Bristol, Flexible
• HOURS: Full Time
• WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

About this opportunity

The Group Environmental Sustainability team is pivotal to the Group, helping reduce the emissions we finance by more than 50 per cent by 2030 and supporting the UK s ambition to be net zero by 2050. Our team plays a key role in support of our high-reaching goals through working with our customers, Government, and the market.

Within the Group Environmental Sustainability team we have an exciting opportunity as Manager, Nature working closely with the Head of Nature and the wider specialist team. You’ll manage a centre of expert knowledge leading on the emerging area of nature and contribute to the development of LBG s strategic position in this space.

You ll need a good understanding of nature-related issues and ideally have experience engaging on these at an industry level. You ll be supporting how nature is embedded in business decision making and be close to developments in the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). You ll need to be an excellent communicator – both written and oral – with experience of adapting your communications to a wide range of audiences. You ll work well with a variety of people and be experienced in building and developing positive relationships.

What we need from you:

Leading a centre of experienced knowledge for nature to support the commercial business and contributing to the development of LBG s strategic position in this space.

• Assess and manage nature-related risks and opportunities
• Support development of a group wide baseline, setting targets and managing a programme to deliver
• Contribute to the nature-related debate and deliver innovative insights to the financial services industry, by participating in industry forums, building networks, and thought leadership research
• Support and liaise with colleagues across other parts of LBG, such as reporting, strategy, business unit propositions and risk
• Support knowledge sharing on nature with colleagues across all levels
• Co-ordinate and prepare briefings as required for Senior Executives ahead of meetings and events
• We expect to be working in a hybrid manner with some key meetings and collaboration based in London.

And any experience of these would be really useful

• Educated to degree level in ecology or a related environmental subject or equivalent experience
• Good understanding of nature and climate interactions and trade-offs and ideally have experience engaging on this at industry level
• Evidence of excellent communication skills – written and oral
• Able to convey complex subjects simply, adapting your style and approach based on the audience
• Evidence of collaborating across teams to deliver initiatives for mutual benefit
• Desire for a career in a fast paced, strategic environment
