We are looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company

The role of Divisional Managing Director will take responsibility for the day to day management of the business. This will involve being an integral individual responsible for driving operational efficiency, to maintain the successful and profitable commercial output of the business. The successful appointee will be expected to take full responsibility, with the support of the senior management team, for the operational success and development of the business.

Reporting into the Board, this role will require interaction with other leaders within the business, to assist in formulating and developing the growth strategy for this highly successful part of the organization. This strategic executive appointment will enjoy significant levels of autonomy accompanied by full P&L responsibility.

Technical Skills and Experience:

• Degree qualification in a relevant science (BSc) or engineering (BEng) discipline.
• The ideal candidate will have extensive senior management experience, within a civil engineering or specialist contracting business.
• Demonstrable success of winning new work and projects, comfortable in the boardroom and on site.
• Experience of managing and growing a civil engineering / infrastructure contracting business, with P&L responsibility.
• Proven track record of people, project and programme management – strong leadership abilities.
• Experience of managing medium – large teams.
• Commercially astute, strong negotiation skills, able to assess risks and measure project success indicators.
• Experience in bid preparation and estimating.
• Able to quickly build strong working relationships with people at all levels.
