Role: Vehicle Technician
Length: Permanent/Full Time
Salary: £27,000 to £40,000 (depending on qualifications) + Bonus

SLM Toyota Norwich is looking for someone with a strong work ethic and a passion for problem solving to join our busy workshop team as a Vehicle Technician.

As a Vehicle Technician you will be working in a busy Toyota environment, where you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing motor vehicles to the high standards of the Toyota brand. The position will afford you the best exposure and training in Hybrid technologies, putting you firmly at the leading edge of future innovations.

The ideal candidate for our Vehicle Technician position will have strong communication skills to be able to work as part of the team. Previous main dealer experience is also desirable, as is an MOT licence.

Key Job Areas of the Vehicle Technician role:

Carry out vehicle services and repairs, in accordance with the manufacturer’s technical standards
Examine vehicles and diagnose non-routine defects
Complete each job within the budgeted time
Liaise directly with customers where appropriate
Work in accordance with the Toyota processes
Provide support to less experience colleagues
Work as a full member of the dealership team.

What we’re looking for in a Vehicle Technician:

NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Repair or equivalent
Ability to complete motor vehicle repairs and maintenance
Full UK driving licence
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Willingness to work effectively within a team and ensure industry leading customer service
Accuracy in using our online VHC video system
Strong communication skills to communicate effectively with colleagues
Flexible ‘can do’ attitude
Ability to use own initiative and work under minimum supervision.
