MS Teams Technical SME

ARM (Advanced Resource Managers)

My client is looking for an MS Teams SME to help deliver the next collaboration platform.

Being part of the End User Compute, the Real Time Communications team delivers enterprise grade collaboration solutions to the organization, these include IM, Group Chat, Conferencing, Audio/Video, Video-on-demand, and telephony. These solutions are available globally through a highly resilient platform that covers over 100K users.

The MS Teams SME is expected to gather and analyse dependencies/requirements, work with product owners to design solutions, deliver these to production, and support issues raised through escalations from operations teams.

The client follows an Agile sprint based delivery model and aims for a service orientated architecture delivered through modern infrastructure.

Role responsibilities

• Engineer, develop and build the collaboration platforms Certify all Audio Visual products prior to deployment to production
• Engineer products in line with all Architectural and Governance standards and controls
• Ensure all solutions are engineered and built with Security standards at the forefront
• Ensure all relevant documentation is written and authored
• Ensure all product developments and engineering use SDLC standards (including JIRA, JAMA, Confluence, ALM etc.)
• Ensure that by the medium term all testing is automated prior to go-live of any new product or function
• Shared Responsibilities
• Partner with both Unified Communications and the other functions within End User Computing to enhance and advocate availability and resilience of End User products.
• Architectural standards implemented within the End User products are in line with all control function requirements and policies including Security (CSO), Compliance and GDPR and End User Architecture, Standards and Governance
• Work closely with the Product Managers to support development and delivery of the product road maps

Experience required

• Knowledge of engineering in Real Time media, streaming media and collaboration technologies.
• Designing, deploying, and supporting Skype for Business Environment.
• Designing, configuring and supporting Session Border Controllers and Voice Platforms.
• Delivery and Supporting of Office 365 solutions, including Identity, Compliance, Exchange Online, and Teams.
• Automation & Development experience, either through PowerShell Scripting, Python, Node.js, or Java.

Capabilities required

• Office 365 (Identity, Teams, SharePoint online, OneDrive, Office 365 Groups)
• Microsoft Azure (Azure Identity, ExpressRoute, Functions, Cosmos, Kubernetes)
• Skype for Business: Good understanding of Skype for Business infrastructure and integration points
• Voice (Understanding of Voice Solutions, PBX, Carriers, Sip Trunks, Session Border Controllers (Oracle SBC preferably)
• SIP: Good understanding of SIP protocol, and message flow.
• Programming/Scripting skills: Python, PowerShell, Node.js, Java.
