Multi Trade Operative Location: Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 3BE. Salary: Competitive. Contract: Part time, 30 hours per week, 4-month contract. Thorngate Churcher Trust runs a prestigious registered care home, specialising in the delivery of high-quality care for older people and those living with dementia. We are recruiting for a Multi-Trade Operative is a member of Thorngate Churcher Trusts maintenance team, reporting to the Property Services Manager. This role is responsible for the delivery of Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting and Decorating, and other day to day maintenance repairs / installations to Thorngate Churcher Trust properties in Gosport, Hampshire. The Multi Trade Operative will provide a variety of repairs to meet the high standards our residents expect. Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Complete carpentry, plumbing and other decorative and plastering day to day repair works to the full range of Thorngate Churcher Trusts properties. To include plumbing in sinks / wash hand basins / baths / WCs, all tiling, lock changes, all carpentry and joinery, kitchen and bathroom fitting, maintenance of sanitary ware, patch plastering and full decoration works. • To liaise with residents and other colleagues, as appropriate, to ensure all relevant individuals are aware of the progress and actions taken. In more complex cases to refer the matter to a senior member of staff to identify the necessary remedial action. • Provide a high-quality service to TCT residents and maintain a good customer relationship, acting as ambassador for TCT. • To ensure at all times that all works comply with relevant health and safety legislation, • policies and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post. To include appropriate use of equipment and PPE and safety footwear. • Ability to complete and maintain paperwork and records accurately in accordance with TCT policies and procedures • Use IT hardware to accurately record progress and completion of jobs in accordance with TCT systems, policies and procedures • Procure job related materials in accordance with TCT s value for money ethos. • To assist all other trades / contractors as and when required and where skilled/ trained to do so. To undergo any training needed to widen your skill level if required • To carry out other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, in relation to the grading and level of responsibilities of the post What we need from you: • Demonstrative experience with a variety of carpentry and plumbing works across a variety of properties. • NVQ level 2, or time-served experience in carpentry and / or plumbing • Experience of working as part of a trade team delivering to tight timescales. • Ability to accurately record work undertaken, record hours, materials and costs. This will be via electronic submission. • Full UK driving licence and own transport to be able attend all TCT properties in the Gosport area and be able to collect materials from various suppliers locally. • Ability to undertake physically demanding work. • Demonstrate our Values and Behaviours.
