Rapidly expanding IP service provider is transforming its entire IP network service both core and enterprise side to be a fully automated function and service.
To do this, they are looking for a network automation specialist to provide –
Technical design authority and stewardship for the design, build, and operation of telco network automation platforms.
Production of technical standards and architectural artefacts.
Feedback on design and testing approaches.
Developing and managing relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Consulting into and collaborating closely with other architects, engineers, product and project managers.
Deliver business goals of improving speed, quantity and quality of deployments without corresponding increase in headcount.
Qualifications/Skills
Alternatively, corresponding work experience in lieu of a degree. It is desirable that applicants have demonstrable expertise in at least 5 of the areas below and ideally would have 5 years plus experience in an architectural or engineering role.
Strong working knowledge of Linux/UNIX systems.
Excellent Python coding ability and relevant experience of popular open source network automation packages (eg. NAPALM, nornir, Robot Framework/RENAT).
Experience of configuration management using Ansible, Salt, Chef, Puppet etc.
Interfacing with, and coding of, REST APIs in Python (using Django, Flask etc).
Keen interest in the application of automation to allow end users to self-service infrastructure (IaaS).
Intent Based Networking and workflow automation (Netflix Conductor, Camunda BPM/Zeebe).
Good working knowledge of IP Networks.
Awareness of OpenStack and related SDN technologies (Neutron, OVN, Contrail etc).
Experience of OpenDayLight an advantage (ONAP or ONOS also considered).
Exposure to any other network automation tools (Arista CloudVision, Apstra AOS, Cisco DCNM, Itential, PacketFront BECS).
Practical experience of agile development methodologies, including CI/CD pipeline and other DevOps approaches
Strong technical leadership skills.
You will lead and guide all of the network automation functions working across layers 1/2/3/4.
