A pillar of the North East is looking for a Network Engineer to join a 2 million pound refresh of everything networks. This role is looking for a strategic Network Engineer to help migrate all networks from Cisco to Aruba/Palo Alto. You will be part of a team of 6 and be able to communicate with varying stakeholders throughout the business to ensure projects are delivered within time and budget. Key responsibilities will include:

• Show expertise in designing and developing complex network architecture, security solutions, and routing.
• Have a deep knowledge and passion for the tools and techniques needed to create high-quality network and security architectures.
• Lead the implementation of scalable, easy-to-manage software-defined networking solutions.
• Define network and security solutions that can be consistently deployed and operated through collaboration and testing, with up-to-date documentation.
• Take responsibility for system stability, security, and resilience, leading and coaching the team in these areas.
• Configure security platforms and investigate incidents to enhance the company’s security.
• Conduct detailed analysis of network traffic and configure network appliances as required.
• Play an active role in deploying and managing fiber technologies at the company
• Manage and monitor the network, resolving incidents and supporting requests.
• Review design artifacts, make technology decisions, and integrate systems efficiently.
• Stay up to date with skills and lead others in personal and professional development.

Knowledge and Skills required:

• Strong experience in Network switching & routing
• Experience with Palo Alto, FortiGate and Firewalls
• Strong experience in Network configuration, operation, and administration
• Excellent understanding of how to configure network equipment and security systems.
• Excellent understanding of WiFi and wired standards, surveying, design, and environmental analysis.
• Experience with Cisco to Aruba migrations would be beneficial.
