Lucid Connect have partnered with a leading managed services provider in the search for a Network Solution Specialist to join their Professional Services team.

This role will be responsible for completing technical projects assigned for Consultancy, Design, Installation and support for their customers. This is a customer-facing role within challenging environments, there will be travel required to and from customer sites with a potential requirement to occasionally stay overnight depending on location and project size.

This particular role is focused on networking (Cisco, Firewall, Switches, Routers etc.).

You will combine remote working with visits to customers on site UK wide to carry-out consultancy, installations & support.

Role responsibilities include

• Build Low Level Designs from High Level Designs
• Implement networking hardware and software from including system configuration, system installation and defining, documenting and enforcing system standards.
• Identify where it’s possible to maximise network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimisation.
• Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources
• Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access
• Administer Firewall environments in line with IT security policy
• Report network operational status by gathering and prioritising information and managing projects
• Upgrading data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases
• Configure routing and switching and Firewall equipment.
• Provide remote support to on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation
• Provide remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation
• Undertake capacity management and audit of IP Addressing and hosted devices within data centres
• Liaise with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis
• Speak to a wide range of customers/stakeholders of different levels and backgrounds via email, phone and in person.

Requirements for this role:

• Cisco certified (CCNA Preferred)
• Proven network support and troubleshooting skills
• Experience supporting, configuring and installing Switches, Routers, Firewalls and other network infrastructure.
• Experience with Cisco devices include Catalyst series Switches, Firepower and ASA series Firewalls and Load Balancers.
• Experience using other networking equipment outside of Cisco would be an advantage.
• Ability to methodically troubleshoot a complex technical issue using tools such as WireShark and TCP Dump on network devices and/or various Servers.
• LAN/WAN experience including VLANs, SVIs, Multi-layer Switches, ACLs etc.

This role will be a split between remote working and visiting client sites across all industry sectors. You will need to hold a full UK drivers’ license and be willing to travel to client sites (some overnight stays may be required).

Relevant permits to work in the UK and willingness to undergo security clearances are required.
