IMServ is one of the UK s leading Meter Operators (MOP) and Data Collectors (DC) and is an award-winning pioneer of metering and data collection services for the utilities sectors. Reporting to the Systems DBA manager,you would join an existing team of hands on technical database administration experts. who are responsible for delivering all appropriate database activity to support IMServ systems and platforms. We want someone who can: Define, perform and report on daily database administrative duties Provide hands on technical skills and support for development and maintenance of all databases. Installation of Oracle and SQL software on servers and clients plus installation, upgrades & patching of applications. Provide technical skills and support for Azure components under the teams control. Administer host platforms using a variety of unix and windows versions. Deliver project tasks to agreed timescales and provide technical expertise to ensure project success. Ensure business continuity strategy is appropriate for purpose and is delivering at all times. Work collaboratively with the IMServ business to deliver KPIs. Input to and support projects and goals to deliver change. Incident and escalation management as appropriate. Experience Required: Essential Demonstrable experience of SQL Server Database administration. Demonstrable experience of Oracle Database administration. Knowledge of RAC systems Demonstrable experience of working on high availability environments. Experience of using Database monitoring tools. Proven track record within the IT field. Experience of Unix Administration. Desirable Knowledge of multiple operating systems and/or hardware. Knowledge of Database DR strategies. Programming skills in any Language, e.g. Python, Perl, T SQL, PLSQL. Shell Scripting knowledge, e.g. ksh, Powershell. Knowledge of Apache Spark, Pipelines, Databricks. Proven track record within the IT field
