Reed Professional Services (RPS) has engaged with one of the key Central Government departments to work on a large and complex internal infrastructure and platform project. RPS have an exciting opportunity for Policy Consultant to join our team of experts.

Project Profile

• RPS are looking for a Policy Consultant to support a large scale programme of work within a crucial central government function. This programme is responsible for managing a large UK Government environmental initiative and the associated projects, objectives and outcomes. RPS are looking to engage with a senior level policy consultant to help facilitate a number of these desired business outcomes, working alongside the customer teams to research a number of global international development funds (challenge, impact, enabling etc.) and the associated analysis, risks and benefits of each option. The team will also be responsible for reporting back to senior stakeholder groups and curating a final report with recommendations on the best funding option(s) available, with clear evidence to support these conclusions.

Skills required

Essential:

• Experience working with environmental or international development funding routes and associated processes.
• Experience working closely with policy teams across different government departments.
• Experience of working in a similar high profile, complex and challenging environments
• Involvement in implementing existing policy changes into action.
• Prior experience of managing issues related to environmental and/or international development fund establishment.
• Subsequent experience with results-based management systems, governance architecture and design, delivery and evaluation of international development programmes.
• Stakeholder management experience at all levels.
• Outstanding communication skills – both written and verbal.

Desirable:

* Prior experience of working with Central Government functions or within a consultancy.

Additional Information

As with all RPS work packages at the moment – until further notice and in line with UK Government guidelines, this role will be fully remote. However, should this change – consultants would be expected to available for travel to client site locations – primarily Westminster, London.
