Process Improvement Engineer

We are currently supporting our client, a major offshore EPC company in finding a Process Improvement Engineer to join them in their Glasgow offices on a staff basis.
The Process Improvement Engineer is a brand-new position within the Equipment Department of their Pipeline Group and is integral to the success of the team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing improvements within the department and influencing change across the group’s production.

What will you be doing?

• Identify and implement intelligent, digital-based systems and processes to support the equipment departments program of improvement.
• Develop and deliver new, forward thinking and efficient systems for managing and utilising our £70m equipment, spares and consumables portfolio.
• Improve our existing equipment mobilisation and RFO process by creating and delivering an intelligent, digital-based Bill of Materials (BOM) system to support the identification of project specific equipment, spares, and consumables with greater efficiency.
• Develop and implement Equipment Management and Stock Control Systems, ensuring the system is fit for purpose, continuously developed, robust and understood by all stakeholders.
• Develop tools and processes to allow the gathering of equipment data such as maintenance costs, onsite utilisation, reactive maintenance, and other related metrics, which will improve the accuracy of equipment maintenance budgets and forecasting equipment utilisation.
• Contribute to the Equipment Department tendering process to review and forecast productivity, equipment utilisation and manning levels during bid.
• Maintenance of operational records (equipment management system) and produce data reports on site activities for management, where required.
• Preparation of operational procedures across the departments, liaising with key stakeholders to understand department requirements and to shape our procedures to suit.
• Follow up & analyse the progress of the equipment department key deliverables and lead the trouble shooting of any safety, quality or technical issue related department systems or processes.
• Support of project planning to ensure key project deliverables are met.
• Produce and issue minutes of meetings, action trackers and project lesson learned as required.
• Liaise with client and sub-contractor personnel as required.

• Possess a qualification in engineering or related discipline.
• Previous experience of working in the engineering or oil and gas industry.
• Experience of SAP software.
• Proven IT skills with experience of developing ERP systems.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Enhanced verbal and written communication skills.
