Procurement Manager – WD
Johnson Controls are now seeking an experienced, driven Procurement Manager. Having recently restructured to focus strategy on supporting the core business, we now have 2 critical, high visibility Procurement Manager roles available in the UK&I Procurement Team, based in Tyco Park in Manchester. Both roles will lead the Direct Materials and Sub-contracting buying; one for HVAC and TFIS (Fire Suppression), while the other will be responsible for leading the Buying team supporting the Technology Contracting Group and Land-Based Security businesses.
The department has embarked on a major transformational strategy, embracing an agile, risk-taking culture, tenaciously creating roadmaps and driving the delivery of the savings plan.
What you will do
Your will be joining the UKI Procurement team at an exciting time, in a role critical to embedding and delivering a transformational strategy.
Working with the buying team and other internal stakeholders, you will lead a team to assess and develop the supply base, develop category strategies and take ownership of various new initiatives. You will deliver and report on key performance metrics at a senior level, driving high performance and continuous improvement.
Collaborating with external suppliers to identify partnership opportunities, you’ll be driving a proactive approach to Procurement leadership, with a focus on innovation and sustainability.

Develops complex buying strategies to purchase Direct materials and sub-contracting services for our critical business units.
Negotiates price, payment terms, lead times and quality requirements. Agreeing year on year cost reductions to contribute to the strategic savings plan
Proactively manage Supply Chain risk, both financial and operational
Working with Strategic Procurement colleagues, develop new supply sources to support existing and new product requirements. Driving innovation into the business.
Leads the team of Buyers through effective coaching and development, motivating and driving a high performance culture, setting clear expectations and supporting the team to achieve
supporting the roll out of a new Supplier Relationship Management Programme
Working closely with the Category Management teams to create and implement innovative and effective Category Strategies
works collaboratively with stakeholders to understand business requirements and priorities and lead the team to provide fit for purpose solutions and value
What we look for
Experience in team leadership and people development.
Proven track record in delivering transformational results including optimized financial targets.
Experience managing internal stakeholders and external suppliers at the highest levels.
Experience in best practice Procurement processes ideally including eProcurement suites.
Results driven with strong delivery experience
