Project Field Line Mgr – Fire Suppression – Rail – WD
What you will do
Leading the Delivery, Quality and Health & Safety on fire suppression projects providing first line management support to a team of Install Engineers and Sub-Contractors to ultimately meet and exceed customer expectations. This will involve you providing technical support, coordination of day-to-day activities, operational teams, resolve operational problems, communicate with customers and collaborate with other departments.
Responsible for Safety, Quality, Wellbeing, Engagement & Discipline of site teams
P&L Owners – Responsible for execution, delivery, budget and performance of installation projects assigned.
Responsible for cost & employee management
Primary contact with Site Manager and represent the business.
Coordinate with & manage support functions to deliver on business objectives.
Responsible for maintaining customer relationships
Responsible for managing costs incurred against the projects
Responsible for change management within the projects
Responsible for KPI compliance
How you will do it
Maintain a close working relationship with the Regional Installations Management teams to review and improve the department’s current aims and objectives.
Record, monitor and advise the Regional Installation Manager of any defects and specification deviations.
Support and management of designated team of engineers within the Install Department.
Control and co-ordination of the Engineers and Sub-Contractors work whilst on site.
Responsible for the implementation of procedures for the execution of work, briefing instructions to the staff in a timely fashion and ensuring that best practice is exercised.
Planning and scheduling of manpower and equipment requirements for programmed jobs, guaranteeing that the jobs are completed within the specified time frame and budget allocated.
Management and monitoring of engineers’ documentation to ensure both accuracy and expediency, including certifying timesheets for correct hour booking and appropriation.
Conduct regular safety and quality audits on the Engineers and Sub-Contractors to ensure that the employees are using the correct equipment in the correct manner.
Monitor Health & Safety of allocated staff and Sub-Contractors, ensuring compliance with all legislation.
Identify training needs by means of regular assessment with the engineers to identify any shortfalls. This includes conducting annual appraisals.
Manage work in hand to maximise productivity of the team, accuracy of forecasts, and jobs completed in a timely manner.
Monitor and control allocated budgets and prepare reports and programmes as required by the Installation Manager.

Manage debt and minimise disputes by liaising directly with the Credit Control Department, which in turn will allow invoices to be passed for payment.
Successfully select, recruit and retain a team of exceptional engineers.
Deputise for the Regional Installation Manager as required.
To establish, manage and monitor customer service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction is achieved.
Managing Work in Hand with effective working capital. Main focus on financials of Margin, revenue and CIP control.
What we look for
Appropriate experience in a customer facing environment
Demonstrate a successful track record of achievement
Demonstrate the ability to network with relevant groups
Experience within the Fire / Sprinkler, Rail Industry is preferred
Demonstrate experience working within the rail sector.
PC literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Preferred competency of standards, ie LPCB BSEN12845, plus NFPA.
