We are committed to providing the best possible project delivery to our clients across the Life Sciences sector, ensuring that they have well engineered plants capable of performing world leading production and research for the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries.
This team delivers all on site manufacturing equipment, covering everything from mixing vessels, CIP systems, filling machines, labelling, assembly robots, packaging and more, and as such it is a multi-functional group which requires engineers with expertise in Automation and Control systems to contribute to these equipment projects.
The Role
As a Project Manager – Automation/ Control you will play a key role in the selection, specification and installation of new, highly automated equipment. You will work closely with site-based stakeholders to agree the purpose of the project and the necessary requirements. You will contribute to supplier selection and auditing, the set-up, integration and development of the control system, the design and development of the machines, the factory and site acceptance tests, validation, and some high-level care of the equipment throughout its lifecycle. As well as a necessary partnership with production and maintenance, you will need to work closely with IT to ensure the network security of any integrated systems.
This role will provide a vast learning experience across an eclectic range of equipment, while working in a team of seasoned engineers. As such, we are open to considering people who would view this as a progression and developmental opportunity for themselves including new graduates or people who have qualified and switched specialism to automation and controls more recently.
About you
To really succeed in this position you will need to be a driven and flexible engineer, able to work well independently and to deliver on demanding objectives. You will need to be highly proactive, as you will be responsible for personally identifying improvement opportunities and recognising when a project demands additional work. You will need to work with real integrity and be an excellent cross-functional communicator who can build relationships with stakeholders in other departments including quality, production, maintenance and more. There is excellent opportunity here for personal learning, so someone with an open mind and a thirst to develop personally would do well in this position. A consistently professional approach is a must, as this role will also be supplier facing and involved in negotiations with some of our third parties.
