An international business based near Fleet is expanding its technical team and we are looking for a Technical Applications Engineer with hands-on engineering experience, or a recent graduate in Mechanical Engineering. Full training will be provided, and you’ll be offered career progression as your technical experience evolves in this exciting sector.The Project Support Engineer will:
Assist the sales channel by providing end users with accurate and timely technical and application support.
Ensure installation problems are eliminated by providing the correct advice at initial project planning stage.
Management of motor set and mechanical assembly projects to successful completion including review of project documents and creation of technical proposals.
Create responses to technical enquiries and project tenders for the business development team.
Ensure that technical application advice is accurate and results in a successful installation.
Recognise when installation and application conditions are not favourable and communicate areas of concern clearly.
Compile techno commercial proposals for mechanical assemblies.
Maintain and update technical reference files.
Develop and maintain technical presentations, bulletins, and internal technical documents.
Develop relationships with key people in the manufacturing/ engineering team and stay updated with the latest information.
Trouble shoot installations on site at customers facility which may require some international travel.
Provide in house technical training on product range and applications for distributors.
Key skills required:
A graduate engineer in a mechanical engineering discipline.
Capability to plan own workload and assess the priorities.
Basic knowledge of electrical motors and inverters and knowledge of assembling rotating equipment.
A good mathematical knowledge using simple equations and conversion of units of measure.
The ability to learn and assimilate new technical information and concepts and apply it in a practical way.
An aptitude for referencing chemical compatibility data, interpreting information with regard to how it will affect the products.
