Working closely with Transport department Flannery is a blue-chip plant hire company and one of the biggest suppliers of operated & self-drive plant in the UK. With that in mind, we are looking for a Regional HSQE Advisor to work within our Birmingham depot and to support our other national depots to ensure that everyone goes home safe every day. As a Regional HSQE Advisor you will be responsible for the review, development, implementation and monitoring of Flannery Plant (Oval) Ltd HSEQ Management System in accordance with ISO 9001; ISO 14001, ISO 45001, in ensuring the company is fulfilling its statutory responsibilities to the requirements of Environmental and Health & Safety Legislation Role and Responsibilities: Maintaining quality management systems in compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, supporting the company throughout the audit process ensuring any non-conformities are closed down Increasing Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality awareness to Managers and employees with training techniques and coaching sessions including inductions Provide general Health, Safety and environmental advice specific to the business needs and continuously advising on safe systems of work Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new and upcoming Health and Safety legislation and ensure the business has systems and procedures in place to meet legal compliance. Be the environmental lead for Flannery and peer for fellow HSQE colleagues. Maintain Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality strategies to support Company policies and procedures. Carry out internal and external site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to Carrying out risk assessments and regular audits ensuring that all documentation are up to date Managing reporting and investigation procedures for accidents/incidents to establish the root causes and preventative measures required as well as producing statistics Communicating various findings and to assist in the development of localised improvements plans Ensuring Managers are focused on delivering a safe working environment providing the necessary management support and technical advice as required Complete weekly/monthly audit/inspection reports for submission to Group/Management teams Ensure that appropriate records are maintain in compliance with legal requirements, e.g., COSHH, and that necessary notices are displayed and reviewed. Conducts occupational health and safety related surveys e.g., noise, lighting, exposure to chemical substances and makes associated recommendations. Work in partnership with HSEQ colleagues to implement projects and initiatives when required. Liaison with local authorities. Ability to be flexible with travel as support in other national depots will be required on a ad-hoc basis. Qualifications and Education Requirements Computer literate, numerate and IT literate (keyboard, data input and interpretation, basic use of Word, Excel, e-mail, and internet). NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Environmental Management Systems Qualification or NEBOSH/IEMA Qualifications Preferred Skills & Experience At least 3 years previous experience in a similar HSEQ role within a medium/large organisation Experience and knowledge of Quality Standards Experience of driving a HSEQ focused culture Experience of delivering coaching sessions Experience and understanding of UK legislation Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and take initiative Good communication skills Strong administration skills Confident with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook Motivated self -starter Excellent attention to detail Strong organisational skills Adaptability Ability to manage multiple tasks Comfortable working on different software systems Excellent time management and organizational skills are a must Competencies: Embracing and driving change Strong problem solver Strong communication skills, verbally and written.
