• Provide technical insight and thought leadership on all aspects of sprinkler and fire suppression systems

• Remote working with travel to clients sites across the UK

About the roleThis is a key specialist hire for Risk Managed Services as you will provide technical insight and thought leadership on all aspects of sprinkler and fire suppression systems.
This will include creating a framework and escalation point for all technical considerations in the team as well as conducting sprinkler surveys, testing, reviewing and designing specifications nationwide for larger risks and managing stakeholders including Underwriting, Agents, Brokers and Customers.
You will be instrumental in guiding Underwriting and assisting our clients to reduce risk. You will produce bespoke detailed technical sprinkler reports that capture underwriting risk assessments and scoring to a professional standard using defined systems in order that insurance decisions; quote, renewal or declinature, can be reached in a timely manner by Underwriting.
You will be responsible to research, produce and publish technical guidance and data designed on sprinkler and fire suppression systems and to improve the knowledge of clients, and colleagues including other Loss Control Surveyors, Underwriting, Claims and Agents providing expertise and knowledge transfer to colleagues and industry based on experience.About you

• Loss Prevention Certificate Board (LPCB) Intermediate Level Qualification (or Equivalent) for Sprinklers British Automatic Fire Sprinkler Association (BAFSA) L2 or L3 Certificate preferred
• ACII or studying towards is Desirable
• Full Driving Licence (UK) Essential
• Extensive knowledge and experience of sprinkler and fire suppression systems, installation and maintenance in a wide range of commercial settings including retrospective installations with detailed knowledge of LPC1223 & LPS1666 and water mist systems.
• Experience of surveying/consulting in large / complex commercial environments.
• Ability to interpret underwriting requirements to ensure that risk management decisions can be identified.
• Highly developed communication skills with customer and senior stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence and negotiate at the highest level.
• Experience and knowledge gained from working in Underwriting, Claims, Surveying or Commercial Engineering (or similar).
